The downtown JC area has Pathmark, too. That's usually where I go. It's on Grand just before the Turnpike bridge.

Oh I didn't know that. I knew there was one on 440, but never saw the one downtown.

I suspect the crackdown is inspired more by a desire to protect the business of the NJT buses than to protect rider safety. The jitneys are not the newest buses on the road but neither my hubby nor I have never come close to an accident in one and we're frequent riders.
