West Bergen is a section of greenville in Jersey City. It is in no way in any shape or form like Bergen County. The west bergen area is technically west of Bergen Avenue but it's advertised area is west of Kennedy Blvd. Usually west of Kennedy Blvd. is safer than east of the Blvd. On the east side u have a lot of drugs and gangs all over with shootings and robberies a daily occurance. The further west of the blvd. the better. I tried to help but I hope I didn't confuse you.

Bergen county is comprised of mostly small towns , no large cities up here. North Bergen is not Bergen County either , its Hudson County and different then the Greenville. Its a separate City , mostly middle class and some low class and low crime.

A plain comparison: they're about as alike as New York City is to York Pennsylvania.
(Well, they both have York!)

I lived in the Greenville section of Jersey City for 19 years. I have also lived in Bergen County, Edgewater. Are they the same...No. But, Woodlawn Avenue and Kennedy is not a bad area. I have a friend who lives a block away on Armstrong and Kennedy. His mother works two jobs, him and his brother are attending university and they are quiet and keep to themselves. Some people will tell you it is because people with brown faces are concentrated there, poverty is in the open and there the media reports crime that it is a bad area. Don't let them discourage you. There are great people that live in this area, access to resources for young children, options for good education and most of the crime is committed against those affliated with certain groups.

No such thing as west bergen ...... maybe you mean Bergen ave ?
JC doesn't have a west bergen section. Like any medium-large city JC has its good and not so good areas. I'd suggest you take several looks BEFORE moving. Go at different times of day/night. Talk to neighbors and local police.
