Medford Good Place to Grow Up? (Medford Lakes: good schools, place to live, move to)

I am in North Jersey and looking to possibly move South, maybe to Medford Lakes, to save some money on housing costs.
Just wonder if its a good place for kids to grow up. I have 2 young daughters now and want a nice community that has a small, old school town feel.
Any other suggestions would be great too.

That said, I have friends and family in the area. Overall, decent place to live.

This belongs on the South Jersey subforum. It's a beautiful area, but it is pretty rural compared to other options. As far as growing up, it's a nice town with good schools, but kids are pretty much going to be dependent on their parents to take them everywhere until they can drive.

And yes sadly enough it is such a ripe off where I live Medford is actually cheaper
