Does anyone know if there are points associated with a ticket for driving while using a cell phone? The code for this violation doesn't show up on the DMV web site--I'm not sure if it just falls under "careless driving"?
If there are points, has anyone had any luck in going to court to get charge reduced? Thanks.
Hands-free is much easier than many people realize. I think. I am not good with technology, but read reviews and purchased a hands-free bluetooth gadget from Amazon for about $50.00 that clips onto my visor. When someone calls it says "Call from ______, answer or ignore?", I say "answer" and we talk and then end the call with my phone in my purse the whole time.

There are no points for a cell phone violation, though this person probably learned this after 1 year. The hand=-held cell violations are just money-makers for the state. Aside from texting, which is fairly dangerous, hand-held cell phone use is no more distracting than most things people already do legally when they drive.
