went through a checkpoint last Thursday night. around 9:30 PM.
Its getting out of control. its a huge waste of my time.
I mean its one thing to have them on New years eve and St. Pattys day, but this is getting riddiculous that I cant go out at 9:30 on a Thursday without getting the 3rd degree at a drunk check that took about 20 minutes to happen.
I have no idea how this is even legal. complete violation of my rights, and I dont feel that it is for a reasonable cause in this case.
yeah. ok. poor you. can't drive sloshed and run the risk of killing yourself or someone else. with everything going on in this world, THIS is what you complain about? must be nice.

We are entering the holiday season...get used to it & get over it! Driving is a privilege, not a right!
The feds give the local depts funds for this and they always increase this time of year until after New Years
I wonder what similar statistics are for drivers who died because they were fatigued, but sober, and made a bad decision to drive. I personally know of 2 that this happened to, and I myself almost had a car accident because I was driving tired, and stupidly chose to drive many times while exhausted, but sober. My point in bringing this up is there is not the same stigma attached to this condition as there is with alcohol, but nonetheless, doing so is no more or less a bad decision than driving after having a few glasses of chianti at the Olive Garden on Friday night after having worked a 60 hour week.

NJ is up to speed on this: After working for 2 years with her state assemblyman and senator, the New Jersey State Senate passed legislation known as "Maggie's Law," on June 23, 2003. The law established fatigued driving as recklessness under the existing vehicular homicide statute. This legislation overwhelmingly passed both chambers of the state legislature and became the first law in the nation to specifically address the issue of drowsy driving.

Agreed. Have you ever buried someone you love as a result of a drunk driver? I have and I'll tell you - you really don't give a shyat about anyone being inconvenienced or having their "rights" violated. My friend had a RIGHT to live but at just 23 yrs of age she had her life snuffed out by an idiot driving on any given weeknight very drunk.
