Hi,

How do I go about finding a very thorough house inspector for an old house? Are the inspectors usually working in their local area, or if someone recommends one from far away, do they usually travel? PM me any recs! Interested in inspecting in Union County.

I highly recommend Robert Fico from Ace Home Inspection. He did my 2 properties and he was very good and very thorough.

We were very pleased with David Grossman from Premium Home Inspections. Reasonably priced, exceptionally thorough, and he prepares the report on his laptop as he goes through the inspection, so you get a complete report right away.

Their site says they cover Union County.

Joe Corsetto from Shelterworks. AMAZING. Welcome to Shelterworks! Very detailed, we actually pulled out of a sale because of his 22-page report and saved money and frustration for years to come. Worth every penny. When he gave our current home his stamp of approval, we felt confident it was a great deal. Almost 5 years later, and we have had no surprises. Highly recommended, nice guy, easy to talk to, has the buyers best interests at heart (not the agents--he won't discuss any part of the report with anyone other than the buyers).
