My bf in Margate got power back today, but friends 2 blocks from him are still out. I heard some of OC has power back, but my apartment has no power OR water according to my neighbor who stayed through the storm.

I drove to SI today because we have an office there that has power, so I worked from there and charged the laptops and phones, too.

On the way there, all the traffic lights were out, but on the way home, the traffic lights at Exit 109 were working and so was the one on Newman Springs Road and Half Mile Road. That's Tinton Falls, I think, and only a couple of miles from where I live.

Update taken from NJ.com...

PSE&G expects to reconnect 780,000 within a week to 10 days.

JCP&L estimates most of the remaining 910,646 households will be restored within a week. It may take two weeks for some in the hardest hit areas. As of now, 20% are restored.

ACE expects to restore service to customers on the mainland by Sunday. There's no estimate for repairs on the barrier islands.

Orange & Rockland Electric claims it has completely restored service.

Edison Township is opening 5 schools today until 5:00 pm so people can warm up and recharge their electronics. There are also a few gas stations in that area open but apparently one has already run out of gas (Oak Tree Rd. and Wood Ave. intersection) and a couple others have waits of an hour or more. The shopping village by Menlo Park Mall on Rt.27 and Parsonage called "Colonial Village" apparently has power and there is a small Starbucks there. and a Dunkin Donuts across the street.
