Can you suggest any other good towns in the area?
Thanks.

You probably want to make a post of your own instead. If you do, make sure you answer the questions stickied at the top of the forum if you want useful advice.
That said, I'll answer your question for you, quickly. The best commuting route is I-78 to Newark. East of 24 will have pretty heavy volume, but will move well enough. There's no "parking lot" type traffic along the route.
However, the "ideal" access to I-78 from much of the town, via Exit 17 on I-287 to 202/206, is a disaster in the evenings especially. Back roads up to I-78 itself (Exit 33 - Mt Airy Rd/Martinsville Rd) might be a better option.
As far as other good towns in the area, using the norms of Bridgewater for a baseline, everything North of 22 from Springfield/24 all the way West to Bridgewater, is good, often even "better" than Bridgewater (but more expensive, Bridgewater's reputation comes from still being somewhat affordable while having the good schools and low crime rates.) Same goes for Westfield. Green Brook straddles 22 and is similarly priced to Bridgewater.
If you like much more rural living, the towns further W/SW are mostly nice.
The rest of the towns South of 22 aren't BAD (except Plainfield), just they're very different, less wealthy, more immigrants, etc. But if you want to live in Bridgewater, you probably don't want to live in them.
