They should just run a damn shuttle train that only goes to SEC and back to Penn.
that's 6.6 trains in an hour. that's 10,667 riders an hour...for 28,000 train tickets sold.

every 9 minutes might be capacity for trains through the tunnel...

Or for the actual trains. It's not as though they have all these extra billion dollar trains lying around unused.

With hundreds of other trains passing through, that would be a logistical nightmare.
The Meadowlands NJT station can only handle 10,000 people per hour. That's bad enough, when incoming crowds are spread over a few hours, but when the game ends, everyone wants to leave at the same time!
NJT shouldn't be surprised. While 6,000 - 10,000 take the train for most events, there have been prior clusterphuks:

Well at least we all know that a major sports event will never happen in NJ again since Mass Transit failed. Oops, I meant NY, since everyone kept saying the super bowl was in NY lol

So much for NJSP, TSA & thousands of security personnel, as well:
9/11 truther: How I sneaked into Super Bowl XLVIII -- and hijacked the postgame show
"saw an employee bus at Secaucus Junction and hopped aboard ...
an old credential ..., a rectangular badge that, at quick glance, didn't look too dissimilar from the ones issued to ... others who worked the Super Bowl ...
used a common refrain whenever hassled by security ...
"I just said I was running late for work and I had to get in there ... that simple."
got through multiple layers of security using that bogus story ...
walked into the media tent, ... grabbed the microphone ... was able to get his message out to a national audience as ESPN and other outlets showed the presser live."
Good thing his message wasn't a gun, or a bomb.

Maybe it was an FU to the NFL since NJ didn't get nearly what the NFL said we would. The cheap NFL wouldn't even let towns use "Super Bowl" in their parties so most towns canceled. NY got ppl spending more $, had the circus on Broadway and we got the crowds and security costs. I'd say yes to the World Cup again, no to the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, FIFA World Cup is as corrupt as the NFL, and the IOC (Olympics).

i don't really view it as "failed". NJT moved 32,000 people, who all wanted to get on trains at virtually the same time, in 3:30 hours. The mistake I think they made was not calling in the shuttle buses they had as a contingency plan right at the start.

That's not to say it can't be better, but I don't think moving that qantity of people, which is basically their max capacity, is a failure.
