We are teetering between rockland county and morris county. As husbands commute will be to jersey city. From what I gather florham park, chatham(sp?) are the way to go.

There is just too much information on greatschools.net. We are looking for the usuals, nice neighborhood, close to shopping areas...subdivision like homes.

But schools rank high on our list. I would like to be 45 minutes max during rush our to jersey cities.

What school districts should I look at in morris county?

Default Morris County Schools

Pequannock Township schools are very good. Jersey City is almost a 1/2 hour way, if that. Pompton Plains or Pequannock, clean, safe, close to shopping, great childrens recreation programs and a good school system. Good Luck!

Kinnelon has great schools and should be about that for a commute.
I'd also say Mountain Lakes but I think it is farther than your 45 min time.

If you can afford it, look at Mt. Lakes and/or Boonton Township. From what I've seen/heard, they seem to have one of the highest rank school systems in Morris Co. You can also try Longvalley, Washington Twp. Morris Co.

Would there be any other counties that I should look into with the quiet suburban life that puts me closer..if that exists..our other choice is the stay in NY and go to rockland, but I think the commute will still be an hour

momYou can try some of the towns located along Rt 78.... Gillette, Baskingridge, all nice areas and Rt. 78 is not too bad in the AM.

Morris, Essex and Union counties will give you the most direct access to Jersey City along Routes 24 and 78. The Star Ledger and NJ Monthly have school rankings...check out their websites. Millburn, Summit, Chatham, Madison are always highly ranked.

Keep in mind the further West you go, the more affordable the home and taxes.
