Delorenzos, affectionately known as 'De Lo's'
from my hometown Trenton, NJ...
yay!
De-Lo's moved out of downtown Trenton (Chambersburg section) to the 'burbs ( Robbinsville ) where it was located since the 1930's.
Same family still runs it..
While not the best in NJ, I discovered this place in Landing (Roxbury) a few days ago. The pizza’s kind of a midpoint between a traditional NY pizza and a thin crust bar pie like Star or Kinchleys. It’s been a little tough to find homerun pizza in Western Morris County, but this pizza is close. Probably my favorite in the Morris Mountains so far...
any other regions of NJ have unique pizza place dishes?
I know in Pittsburgh there's a decent pie called the Polish boy, made with cheese, pototo, saukerkraut and kilbasa on top. Can't go wrong there.
In parts of Long Island some pizza places serve pie with cold mozz on top of the baked mozz, only seen that on LI.
Philly and Buffalo have their own take on the tomato pie. I've tried to Buffalo one with good results. sauce was more pastey and powder cheese on top of a thick crust. Tried this in both Buffalo and Utica.
That Polish pizza sounds incredible. I would try that in a heartbeat.

I got a "tip" on this pizza place and we went a few weeks ago. The calamari was a home run, the pizza not so much. It was better than most of the over doughy crap that passes for pizza in western Morris and Warren Counties, but not really worth the drive. Following another "tip" we traveled to Milford (Hunterdon) to a place called the Little York. Pizza was thin and crispy and good. Would go back there, but not to Cambiotti's.
