I have been going through the typical New Jersey house search of identifying towns with solid school districts, nice areas, and that have train stations that go to NYC. Similar to most people that start threads like this, I have found that most of these towns have houses that are at the upper limits or out of my budget (Montclair, Cranford, Fanwood, Maplewood, Scotch Plains, Verona, etc).

Given the above, plus the recent issues with NJ Transit, I am now considering houses in West Orange, with the idea that I can drive to the ParkFast location in Secaucus. Does anyone use the ParkFast location in Secaucus for commuting to NYC on a daily basis? If so, what are the pros and cons? Is the traffic on 280 or 78 East bound horrendous in the mornings?

Thanks

I used to use it fairly regularly. Cost was the big negative. I was coming from Wayne, which you should also check out, and traffic was never an issue. Most people I know in the Livingston/west orange area drive to Harrison park in the garage or lot there and take the PATH.
