- Ridiculous real estate prices
- Even more ridiculous property taxes
- Winter (ain't seen one of those in Alabammy, have ya??)
- Crazy car insurance rates
- Political corruption that's second to none
But they've got good pizza and bagels! Hope your hubby is getting a HUGE salary increase.............
You are just mean! But he's right OP... you can't be poor like Bob if you want to live in NJ.
Poor? Wanna compare paychecks? Betcha I've got ya beat- I just get to keep more of mine since I don't have to send it all to the city and state.......
He we go..the "Mine's Bigger" arguement! It's not size that matters Bob, it's what you do with it that counts. NJ is a much better investment that GA..hands down!

Coming from someone who was ready to high-tail it out of there a few months ago (and would have if the RE market had allowed her house to sell.....), that's a tall statement.........lol

Thank God for the recessed market..I really think it would have been a huge mistake..all kidding aside! Maybe in a few years...closer to retirement age, perhaps I may grace you with my presence

I'll let my new neighbors know that they might not be the sole representatives of your crew- they'll be thrilled......lol.
Well now brown cow! I have lived in more than just good 'Ol Bama!
Florida has property taxes....been there done that mess!
Colorado has winters......worse than New York I am sure!
I wouldn't dream of moving if the profit wasn't substantial.
Hubs is getting a 100% pay increase. As in making double what he makes now.
That's why we decided to move.
We aren't going to be buying a home for a good little while.
Our 4bd/2bt, 1 acre home is 1/4 of the mortgage price of the 2bd/1bt house by a lake on a small lot for about $1,300 a month (rent) or $400+k (buy), that we found and may lease for 6mths. If that made sense. It's like cramming a mansion into an RV.
I am flexible in what field of work I can go into, if I decide to pursue a career in NJ.
I can gross any where from $60k-$80k a year, from my previous work experience and education.
I would really love to open a business/buy a business. Looking into that too.
Or I can just do what I have always wanted to do and be a starvin' artist!
I am glad I am a patient person.....traffic can be a killer but I think I can manage.
I wonder why Northern people always think that Southern people like country music, are into incest, hunt every day of the week, live in shacks, and work at jobs that pay beans?

Florida's property taxes are a fraction of NJ's, and Colorado's winters may have more snow, but it's usually more manageable than the snow/ice/slush crap that NJ gets some winters.

Probably because there's plenty of folks down there who do. I've lived in GA for a year now, and seen cases of all of that (well, no incest, that I know of....lol).
Seriously- best of luck to you in your move- it's definitely going to be a change, but nothing that can't be overcome.
