I saw some pretty cheap gas in Clifton. It was 1.84, at the gas station on the cornor of Crooks and Lakeview, I haven't seen prices that low since at least 2006.
All this talk of fuel efficient vehicles has scared them now. I bet it goes to 1.50. by end of winter. I think it will stay low for a while, they think we will forget probably.
it's strange, we *should* have some of, if not THE lowest prices in the country. it seems whenever prices drop, we're slower than other places to reach bottom. a lot of states/cities are down in the $1.70's now. i guess when things start to level off we'll take our rightful place as 'cheap gas state' - or at least i hope we do. I saw $1.91 on Tuesday.
Here is Central Florida the lowest I saw was 2.06 yesterday. Most stations are still at 2.16 here.
It's all fine & dandy that prices have come down, what I hope for is that they STAY down. Just because the prices are about 50% off from the highest levels does not mean that we can forget about the problem of our dependency on foreign oil. OPEC cut the output production by 1.5 barrell last time and they're looking to cut some more to try to "stabilize" oil prices, meaning cut production, create a supply & demand crunch so prices stay at a profitable level, but when our soon to be ex-president W asked Saudi Arabia and OPEC to increase output they flat out refused. Isn't that just precious?
