I lived in the area for years & nothing ever happened to me. I've stumbled home drunk in the middle of the night by my self (in my younger days), hung out in front of my building talking to friends until the wee hours, ect.
Stay out of the Greeneville section & you will be fine (It's not near Journal Square).

I already booked the hotel and I can't justify paying $300 a night for a hotel. I've never been to Jersey City, last time I went to NYC I parked in Weehawken then took the Ferry to the city, I didn't stay overnight. I was simply asking a question, I seen some reviews on the hotel saying the area was bad but most said the hotel was nice, nothing about the area, but I thought it would be better to ask on this forum since there is probably people that live there.
