Hello! I am looking for a non-denominational, accepting of all lifestyles church, that worships with contemporary christian music. I have been a member of another church in northern NJ with wonderful music (the stuff you would hear on 99.1FM), but they are not welcoming of all people. They pretend they are, but God-forbid a gay couple tried to join the church. I have looked into the united church of christ in montclair, but did not care for their music or service format. The pastor's message was right on, but I look for closeness to God through music, and the choice of music was not to my liking.

Any advice or suggestions? I appreciate your help!

ignore Giantrutgers...

if you like such a church and feel close to god that way , then be it....

in our area we have people with long faces kneeling in the pews of the church.

how depressing and i feel they are worshipping a 'dead' god.

btw, montclair also has lots of buddhist lamas visiting them...
i went thru a tibetan ritual once with a tibetan lama.
a group there invited him over in their center.
it was very healing.

nice place...

Have you considered the book of Romans when addressing the gay couple that tried to join your church? I just find that many who claim to be a Christian are skipping the inconvenient parts of the Scripture.

Trust me, embrace God's Word. If you're like me, you'll continually find faults with yourself, but God is gracious.

yep, God is non judgemental.

btw, been thinking this : how after every football match vitory these players rave about how great God is... and all that and I am thinking like "Gee, you did your actions and the consequence was good." Don't they say do your part and leave the result to God.

Gee, most footballers are so dumb when it comes to God. I am not saying their fans who watch them are dumb too. Well, very subtly I did try to imply that LOL (Heh, its coming from a non judgemental person .)
