Reason #657 I moved where I am now. If I take the Tkpe once every other year it's a lot.

As promised, 2 websites:

Map 1: I-95 Corridor Shifts, 1954 - 1982 this one is a quick one page synopsis of how I-95 got pushed around until it was basically not a threat to the Pike anymore in NJ.

I wonder what Rt 46 looks like now between International in Budd Lake and Hackettstown. There used to be a time where I'd drive it almost on a daily basis. All the other places, like The Trading Post, etc. I wonder if they are all gone as well.

Trading Post - still kickin'!
Perkins - gone (across the side street from Trading Post)
The strip mall across the way is still there..I don't go there often so I'm not sure what's closed and what's not.
There's a new hotel on Westbound in Budd Lake
The no-tell motel (Blue Bird) is still empty, the way it's probably been for the last 15 years, LOL.
The car dealerships are still there...there's a relatively new Saturn. Callaremi is slated to close as part of GM restructuring.
The A&P plaza on the eastbound side is doing OK - a few stores have closed and more have moved in, but there are vacancies.
Target is at the bottom of the hill on the westbound side.
The "old" A&P plaza on the westbound side in Wash. Twp has had a renaissance - a medical center opened up, along with a winemaking shop and cupcake shop. Blockbuster, Pietro's and the liquor store are still there.
The Stardust Diner is now a Hyundai dealership.
A Sherwin Williams and Auto Parts store have opened.
That old restaurant on the westbound side right at the river is still around (the name escapes me).

I think that's about it! Back to your regularly scheduled Tkpe talk.
