guys thanks for the feedback. this is not the 1st time I have heard that people got the EB and they weren't in that date but I thought it to be a slip up or something at the time but perhaps they simply never enforced it? who knows.

Hopefully you guys dont think i was stirring up and more nervousness, Im just concerned like you all are and figured id share what is bugging me. It is certainly on topics. All we can do is keep each other informed the best we can. Diorgirl and also many more of you have been most helpful in keeping us all up to date.

so again, it will be in the hands of NJ. hopefully, they just tack on the 13 weeks to all people who qualified for EB! That is how they did things for tier 2 and it went very smoothe.

Can anyone tell me if there was a final stimulus check after their final EB check? I got my final EB check two weeks ago, but not a stimulus check. Just wondering if anyone knows if a final one was issued, or if not, I'll need to check with the post office to check if it's been lost. Thanks

Default House to vote on extending unemployment benefits

About one hour ago, a report appeared on CNNMoney.com that legislation for another extension in Unemployment benefits [H.R. 3548] is scheduled to be considered by Congress next Wednesday.

The House measure would lengthen benefits by 13 weeks for the more than 300,000 people who live in states with unemployment rates greater than 8.5% and who are set to run out of compensation by the end of this month, a Democratic aide said. The legislation would also help another 1 million people who are scheduled to lose benefits by the end of the year.

The measure is expected to pass in the Democrat-controlled House, though it could face a challenge in the Senate. Senate Republicans could not be reached for comment Thursday, but Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., last month told Fox News that he would vote in favor of extending benefits.

My original claim was Feb. 17, 2008 and I also got EB. I thought it was because I was still collecting at the time it was passed. This is encouraging if other people were able to get EB after it ran out for them. My last weekly claim was Aug. 31. Got may last stimulus check last Wed. It would make sense if it gets passed next week so that it would run into Christmas.

Does anybody have a time-frame that you think when they will discuss extending benefits until Dec. 31 2010? I assume that H.R. 3548 will only extend benefits for another 13 weeks and not address the issue of extending benefits through Dec. 31 2010. Right now I am on Tier 1 and will most likely start Tier 2 in early November. I sure hope that they pass H.R. 3548 a.s.a.p. for all the people who have exhausted all of their benefits or soon will, but I also hope the powers-that-be also address extending benefits until Dec. 2010....Good Luck to everyone, especially to those who have exhausted all of their benefits...

Good article, of course the one Republican senator from South Carolina would vote for it considering South Carolina is much worse off than New Jersey. Their unemployment rate is around the 12% bracket, maybe higher.
