I'm thinking of moving to 120 sussex street in hackensack (right by Essex, between Railroad and Union). I've been there a couple times both during the day and night time and it was pretty quiet but I've been reading posts on this forum that are giving me doubts. I plan take the bus in NYC everyday and so need to feel safe walking to Main & Washington both in the mornings and a night (it gets pretty dark in the winter). I'm from bergenfield and it is pretty quiet where I am - I have never had an issue with safety and I walk in town quite a bit by myself (and I'm an average sized single female so that is important).
