This has been in our local paper. I live in one of the bordering towns. It's kind of crazy to have coyotes hanging out in the suburbs.

And you all will hear me screaming if I happen upon it.

My statement is just conversational and fun. I had a feeling the statement you made about habitat would come up. I am very protective of the environment and there were houses there before I came along, so you need take that argument up with the proper channels.

And as for the suburbs, in the fifty years or so that the neighborhods were there, it's crazy in the scheme of the everyday mundane that a coyote shows up on the porch. YMMV.

Lighten up, kort677.

you can be fairly certain that you have little to fear from a coyote, they want as little to do with you as you do with them

Default Coyotes all over Livingston

So far Ive been lucky-I see them everyday-usually in groups of at least 4 or 5. Almost all the time their passing thru the woods and crossing the street up by south orange ave. Its scary- they dont seem intimated by me at all. Yikes!!

Coyotes aren't originally native to the eastern US. They moved in because they like the suburbs.

These attacks are still rare. Coyotes are usually shy and stay away from people; unless they are going through your garbage.
