Only thing about living in that area Union City all the way to North Bergen boundry line..they let me go speeding since I'm white...all others pulled over..
Many years ago it was considered "Little Havana" because of the large Cuban population who immigrated there. They came with very little and worked hard for the American dream and moved to more desirable areas. Now there is a new group of immigrants taking their shot at the American dream and I wish them the best.
I should note that not all move out. There a many familys that stay because of their own reasons such as a Church they love or friends and family. I know people who are multi-millionaires who could live anywhere in the state they wanted but stayed in the area because they like it.
Years ago Union City is where I met my first true love and married her..was a blind date with a friend of mind and once I saw her walk out of the washington towers lobby ( years ago not sure still there) I fell in love with her. We were very young she went to Emerson HS back then..had lots of fun in Union City years ago.
