You have not presented any evidence that if the money came from Trenton that the cost of education would be less. I have evidence that shows the contrary. Abbott program.....

You either pay for education through your municipality or the state. The same amount of money would be required to educate the children.
Let me spell it out for you. NJ does not fund NJ public education as much as other states do. Therefore municipalities are FORCED to pick up the tab. Most states pay a much higher % of public education. Guess what this leads to.... higher taxes for you. If Trenton paid their fair share your taxes would be lower. Not sure what is the debate with what I am saying. I am asking Trenton to actually use money wisely and not pass the education burden on to the local level. Let me guess you dont like this idea? Well it works in most other states in our country.

Listen my friend where does Trenton get the money from? Me the tax payer. It doesn't matter how education is paid for it is still the same pie with the same people paying for it. Sheesh.

What??? We are not talking about property taxes that Trenton receives. We are talking about revenue from other sources that are used to fund education. Not sure what is so hard about that. Again look at the states that fund education from other sources other then property taxes. They have much lower property taxes.

First things first. You are not my friend and you are not the only taxpayer on this board. Some of us pay our fair share as well.

What other sources are you talking about? Is there a large slush fund the state is hiding? It is $11 billion in the hole. What in God's good name are you talking about? There is no money. With what we pay in all our taxes this year still causes a $2 billion shortfall. THERE AIN'T NO MONEY!!

Yes I am talking about revenue that the state pulls in from various sources. Most notably business taxes, gambling, sales tax,sin taxes. Those are just a few. I know essentially those taxes come from us, but they are not directly property taxes which are our biggest problem.

That money is gone it is spent. There are other activities the state carries on that require funding. Even counting every thin dime from all sources we still have NO MONEY!!!!!!

Who cares that these taxes aren't property taxes we still pay them. Our biggest problem is not where we pay our taxes it is the overall tax burden. If my property taxes go down some other tax will go up to compensate. Again when you pay for groceries do you take the money from your right pocket or left pocket?

I feel sorry for the people who lost their jobs.

On the other hand, the party's over folks. Maybe some sanity will finally sink in to those whom we trust with our money.

The only race to bottom is the one the unions want to send us on. The state is broke (worse than broke $11 billion in the hole) yet the unions want to crank up the spending.

By the way the parties over. Time to pay the tab....
