HH, your story brought back a memory of a young fellow who wandered into my Cannon Air Force Base dormitory room one evening in 1968 as the rest of us were jamming to the latest hits of Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette. This fellow stood back at the door and said nothing as we all continued playing but eventually someone noted his interest and ask him if he played a guitar. Anyone who has ever jammed in a group where strangers could just walk up and casually listen to the music knows this story before I tell it. The young fellow replied that he "played a little." Someone gave him one of the few decent guitars we had and he burned the strings not only playing like a professional but also singing. We learned that he was an airman like us but was from Carlsbad, NM. We also learned he had a couple of country tunes on the local jukebox. If I ever learned this fellow's name, the years have removed it from my memory but I continued to wonder where he went. Many years after that incident I learned that he may have been performing in a Key West, Florida bar in the 1990s.
Oops! Sorry 'bout that diversion! Back to UFOs and aliens.
