The Mexicans and Indians have lived in the Americas for over 40 000 years the Spanish over 500 years and the other Whtes have lived here 200 years. The True Native Americans are the Mexicans and Indians. The Spanish introduced everything imaginable to the Americas like horses and livestock and plants and vegetables and Fruits and tools and Saddles etc. and mining ideas and ranching and farming and irrigation ideas etc. Its only been in the last 100 years that the other whts have contributed any progress to the Americas. el pintada kid

The Spaniards mixing with the natives is where "mexican" people as we know them came from.

What does any of this matter?

What does this mean? As has been said The Spanish mixed with the natives, while pillaging and looting the land, and the natives, and then the resulting population became know as Mexican. Personally I can trace my family back to the early 1640's in this country, and to Texas when it was also still part of Mexico. I am white but I guess that would make my heritage Mexican too. LOL. So what do we get? Where were the natives before they where here?

Because all of those whites in the 1700s contributed nothing.

Goodbye Constitution, goodbye Declaration of Independence.....

Guess I can't really enjoy my Sam Adams beer either.....

Personally, I think good pretzels, and a steaming bowl of Sauerkraut and Pork are excellent contributions.....

The bottom line is that there wasn't a whole lot of anybody in New Mexico until the last 100 years. New Mexico has always been very sparsely populated, so to say any culture has a superior claim on it is really pretty weak.

i dont get the meaning of this thread either but i will say that the spaniards did not introduce vegetables and plants and fruits and tools to us Native Americans. we already knew about plants and vegetables and fruits and tools.
