hey, "all-of-ya'all" (as my texan friends say) - to get the real inside scoop and poop on this lil town, check out the first thread by 'buffalodaddy' at 'alamogordo it is...,' man, that guy has this town down PAT! i spent a month here and I am more than ready to air out of this place! anyways, 'buffalodaddy' sure can write! i have to agree with him 1000 and ten per cent (1010%) with his take on 'alamo' as the locals refer to it. truer words have never been written about this city (if you can call it one) and i was here for only four LONG weeks! today, as i waited for the airport shuttle, i read the local paper and practically the entire section A was devoted to the crime log! and dig this, sports fans: there was even an AXE MURDERER loose on the streets for a while! a bloody axe murderer for cripes sakes! the only way i'll ever come back here is if after i'm cremated and some of my ashe particles (at the sub-atomic level) are carried back here on the winds! there's a few nice folks here, but almost all of them are attached to the german air force. i made a some friends among these transplants; some unforgettable, especially the little old lady whose living room is adorned with a 5'x6' color oil painting of the main man in the deutsche national socialist party in full military regalia. she said that "he vas a goot person for those of us who suffered after der first var." too funny! anyways, check out 'buffalodaddy' as he is THE bomb on this NM thread!
Seriously, though, you seem to have had a not-so-good month in Alamogordo. I might add, though, that the A section of most local papers is full of local crime. It sure is in Ft Worth (although here it's the B, or local, section).
"Nearly all" of the nice people there are attached to the German Air Force? That seems a bit harsh. I've met some nice people online who live there who aren't in the GAF.
OK, the ax-murder took place in 1989, he is out now, you can read about it here Killer faces another year in jail - Alamogordo Daily News
It looks like the young lady that was here for a month, didn't look around and see the beauty that we have here with the Mts and desert. And other than the german AF, did you meet anyone from the US AF? What about the locals, or did you keep to yourself? Life is only what you make of it. I hope you have better luck meeting people in the next town you are in.
The New Mexico Dept of Corrections released him from prison NOT Alamogordo so direct your antics toward them and the Liberal Judge who only gave him a 19 year sentence and not Life in Prison or the Death Penalty.
On a positive note maybe you and Buffalo Daddy can kick it and have some brewskies .
LOL.....nah we did that too ourselves as i'm dismayed at the shape of our Infrustructure as it's just sad to see. However there is some good news to report and that is i do not see the Billboard sign ''Jesus is lord over Alamogordo'' anymore .

Sounds like you have a 'thing' for buffalodaddy.
I say, give him a call and go get laid.
There are good and bad people anywhere you go. Look for the good ones and stick to them like glue and lose the bad ones.

Wow, that would be a strange billboard to see. Maybe the person that designed it had been smokin' too much grass at the time.
Not that there's anything wrong with Jesus but the quote sounds like one of those 'Jesus freak' statements of the 60's and 70's and I don't think Jesus would appreciate that.
