I haven't noticed this at all, although my doctors here and in El Paso certainly don't seem to mind letting a patient cool his heels for an hour. Not all that different back home in Oregon.

Yeah. I was going to say, I still live in Missouri (will remedy that soon) and when I go to the doctor with an 8AM appointment, it's not uncommon to sit for half an hour or more before I get in. It's a clinic environment and I can sometimes see he's there. So it's not a mater of him getting in late. 8AM is when they open and start taking patients, before they even open up the phone lines for appointments. So it's not a case of somebody needing more time either. And even if that was the cause, every time?

The stoplight fanatics drive me nuts. I got rear ended in Santa Fe by a guy from New Jersey because the guy in front of me at the light was slow to move when it turned green. Mr. New Jersey floored it when the light changed. I have a friend recently moved here from New York who gets enraged and honks when someone at the light waits a millisecond before moving into the intersection when the light changes. Experienced New Mexico drivers know that some jerk is probably not going to stop on red and will T-bone whoever pulls into the intersection. You see these guys every day. People learn to be a bit cautious.
