I feel the same way about Texas. Don't move here, either.
But, but - some of the places I've seen since I've been traveling through the state are really nice. I was seriously impressed by Beaumont especially. And Galveston! What a dream town. I could have gazed at the ocean forever.

I live in Beaumont...are you being sarcastic or do you just not get out much? Were you coming to Beaumont from literal hell or a literal ****hole (as in a hole filled with ****). I'm so confused right now.

okay...I'm going with sarcasm. It has to be.
LOL! That's what I was wondering, too; must be sarcasm? Hasn't Galveston been washed away at least a couple of times, by hurricanes, in its history?

It's been hit a lot. I mean...it's a local weekend destination for the region. It has some nice little tourist attractions and some beautiful homes. It's okay. But gulf coast beaches in general...especially those west of FL (Alabama, MS, LA and TX) aren't known for being picturesque, but it's what we have and we use them for recreation. I'm just flabbergasted at Beaumont. That's where I assumed it was sarcasm. Beaumont on the worst.
