#2, you don't need to bring the $20.00 money order this trip. They did not take it.
Also, they told me that it will be like three weeks because they had to process all of the ppl who live nearby first before they can processes my application.

You have presumably all seen THIS page right?

http://www.nyc.gov/html/hpd/download...LaCelia-ad.pdf

Seems there are precious few available at fire sale prices.
Yeah, my chances seem very slim and almost impossible. But, I am walking by faith and not by sight.

I just called today since it's been 3 weeks since i dropped off all my paperwork and was told that they should be contacting people soon. It seems that they are still moving slowly through the process.

Well, if NYC10029 hasn't got a call yet, we all have a long wait. They were going to contact people living in the community first. I assume NYC10029 lives in zip 10029. That puts him on the preferred list at the front of the line.

You are right MG8215. Also, For those of us on the nonpreferred list..its a long shot. 72% of the apts are going to those on the preferred list (residents of Manhattan, the disabled and Municipal Employees). That only leaves 28% of the apts for those on the non-preferred list. That is only 34 apts that thousands of us non-preferred applicants are waiting for. THIS TRULY IS A LOTTERY!

oh and one more thing.....those of us who are on the nonpreferred list can probably forget about the apts priced less than 290,000. More than likely, the preferred people are going to get the preferred price.

Hey Hope2bblessed. I was aware of all the groups on the preferred list (although I believe that preferred residency zip is 10029, not all of Manhattan). I was not aware of the breakdown of 72% of apartments going to the preferred group. Where did you find that information? I haven't seen that on the website or anywhere else that I checked.

Can i resubmit an application if I haven't received a letter as of yet? I submitted the application before the deadline and am a municipal employee.

Thanks in advance.

http://www.nyc.gov/html/hpd/downloads/pdf/LaCelia-ad.pdf

MG8215, I have provided the url link above. You will note at the bottom of the page it states

1. 50% of the apartments will go to Manhattan Community Board 11 (I dont know if that is considered 10029)
2. 5% will go to persons with mobility impairments
3. 2% will go to persons with visual or hearing impairments
4. 5% will go to New York Municipal Employess

That is a total of 62% of apartments set aside for those on the preferred list mentioned above (correction. I originally stated 72%)
That leaves 38% of the apartments for non-preferred
There are 122 apartments in the building
38% of 122 apartments is (38*122)/100 = 46
There are only 46 apartments available for non-preferred applicants .....However, I HOPE2BBLESSED
