I have a log of 40k with CB preference and a young daughter. Just us two. I got called a couple weeks ago and my interview is next week where i bring in all my docs. I am self employed. I think the income band im in only has 4 available 2 bedrooms. Is tis even possible for me to be able to get one of these? How do they calculate income? Any info would be great! Thanks and good luck to everyone!
Visit this site, https://a806-housingconnect.nyc.gov/nyclottery/lottery.html they explain how income is calculated and what to expect during the process. Good luck!
So I just called the housing people and they said they only look at what my projection is for 2017. They don't care what my income was the last two years. They just want to see that I've been self employed for two years and thats why they need the two years tax returns plus a projection for 2017. Weird right?
I am wayyyy past all of this. It's actually not this development...I was referring to all of the developers in my original post. At this point the Commissioner is involved. They have blatantly tried to skip over my file and they actually told the City they were not accepting my appeal. It got ugly but hopefully everything will work out of it is meant to.
I have contacted HDC for this development. I don't know what they are doing but it is not right.
I got a call last week that I was eligible for a band 5 studio and a band 4 - 1 bedroom. I went to go visit the apartments today. I wasn't really interested in the studios because it's a lot to pay for a studio that is smaller than the one I am in now. The one bedrooms are nice and were about 645-650 square feet. The AC/heating units are an eye sore but everything else is nice. I also saw the model apt, which help gives an idea for how furniture can fit in the apt. Now I just have to wait to see if HDC approves me.
Anyone else go see the apts? Seems like they had a bunch of viewings over the next few days.
Lol I just received a rejection letter today for missing documents. There were some things missing from my intake that I submitted to the default 535carlton@ email the day after my interview. Whoever staffs that email said they received it but apparently never sent it to my intake specialist, thus rejected. This is hilarious! Hopefully I don't have to appeal and can sort it out with the specialist, because this is some human error bull**** on their side..

Have you heard from HDC? They got back to me and said that after looking into my file, everything had been done properly, which I still find hard to believe as this is the most poorly run lottery that I've ever been a part of.
They did only look from January 2017 on so they did not see how my income was calculated in 2016.
I've submitted paperwork/interviewed in October/November 2016, again in April 2017 (when I was told I could expect to be signing a lease by the end of May,) waitlisted in June, contacted again on August 14th for MORE updated paperwork, received request for multiple clarifications, saw model unit on 8/16/17 and just now received a call for additional clarifications!
Any other lottery I've ever been a part of it's been packet of paperwork, interview and model unit viewing all in the same day. Then 48 hours for me to make a decision. None of this back and forth.
This is getting pretty ridiculous.
I finally signed a lease for a unit at 535. I thought I was maybe one of the last ones to complete the process. However, I was shocked to learn that the building is still less than 50% occupied. I thought that construction was already complete, so I guess it might just be that the lottery process is backed up? Considering MHANY is running lotteries for this, 38 Sixth, and other properties in parallel?
Anyways, for those of you who are still waiting in the lottery, hang in there! Let me know if you have any questions.

Hello, and Congratulations!
What was your log number for Carlton (you can block out last 2 digits with XX) and what band are you in. My impression was that it would be harder to fill band 4 and 5 apartments, so that they were the only apartments left over?

Did you get a 1/2/3 bed?
Great news!
Thank you! Log # was 74XXX, I had CB preference and I qualified for band 4 and 5 studios but was only shown band 5 studios. I assume the other ones were already assigned to show to other prospective applicants.
