I know I'm responding a little late, but they have to give you details. It's part of the protocol, and you are within your rights to insist on it (politely, of course). They have to show you, and they will, exactly how they calculated whatever--your assets, your income. You cannot simply be rejected. Let us know how this comes out for you. HPD seldom reverses a decision by the marketing agent, unless it's clear a blatant mistake was made, and often, you're the one who has to prove it. You need to be the expert here.
I am curious as to what happened to this Kitkat0303. There is no requirement that assets be below household income. Just that it is below the income limit for a family of four for that income range.
Get in touch with HPD yourself, and say you haven't heard back on your appeal. HPD also lets you know of the decision. There's a phone number and an email. The email should have been included in your rejection letter from the marketing agent.
A friend got a lovely but small "affordable" 80/20 in Times Square a few years ago. I asked him if he had any tips for us. He said "They LOVE assets."
