I think people with 60% AMI have the most opportunities.
It's very rare something would come out that middle income folks can apply for. For some reason, when we finally get an opportunity, it's only for studios - as if people of certain income levels don't require one bedrooms.
After waiting a year, I was finally called for a nice development in midtown - which catered exclusively to middle income. It was one that I really wanted, and then for a one bedroom (what luck)! But when I went through the paperwork, I found out that some CB preference person got it. Of course, there were only 4 apartments available for my income range!
I'm having housing lottery burnout. ugh.
again with that CB crap
if you won the apartment the in F would they give it away to someone with CB
these lotteries made no sense to me

I know, right? And my log number was the lowest I've ever had of 2xx. People of log #s in the 40xxx got the apartments cause they had CB preference. Depressing.

I get it in the Bronx and such where the people that live there are lucky to get nice developments come in and they get first dibs to stay, but in Midtown, if you live in midtown, you ain't got no problems.
I am tempted to ask for a pay deduction so I fall back into the 60% aMI (i'm not even that far off). also i'd pay less in taxes lol. I'd be better off in general making the 60% ami than between the 80 and 100. these stupid lotteries make people not want to better themselves, just the lure of a permanently affordable apartment. grrrrrrrrrrr
I blame creepy tee-pee instagram filters for this newfound grossession.
