Good Morning and Happy Monday.
On Friday I received an email from my attorney with the fully executed purchase agreement. I must have a commitment letter from a lender by February 13th. I am going to reach out to the Chase contact as well as my bank to see who has the best lending rates.
I thought we had to use one of their preferred lender? With the options being chase/citi, specific branches though. I have so much and anxiety about this whole process and moving in general but I'm excited to live in a brand new apt.
Anybody have any updates on your progress to share? I am still waiting to receive my countersigned purchase agreement- I talked to Eleanor today & she said I should hear next week. Does anybody know when closing/move-ins will be scheduled for? It should be soon, right??
I have already received my countersigned purchase agreement and have my pre approval from chase. I was told I need to have a commitment from a lender by the 13th of Feb.
Regarding closing they told me anywhere from 60-90 days. They still have many of the two bedroom walk ups left. As you guys can see they updated the website to only have the floor plans for those units. Hopefully they can can get rid of them soon because I don't even want to think of the financial implications I thy don't sell. Everything is outline in the offering plan though so I may. Red to revisit the conditions around moving in when all the units are not sold. That is a worst case scenario.
I am eager to move in and am ready to close next week if needed. Plan for a late March/early April move in. Start speaking with the loan officers because although you have 28 days that time can fly.
Also some of the rental people are hearing back. I had someone tell me they didn't get in.
I've been glued to this message board viewing all the posts. I thought they had townhouses, has anyone seen them? That is the only way i'd be interested in purchasing from this developement. The pictures in this tread looks very nice, but I can't get past this area for some reason. I grew up 12 blocks down in Butler houses on Webster surrounded by other projects, I moved to get away from it and i'd hate to live around that BS again. But these prices and the prospects of the rivitalization is tempting. I'll drive by next week since we're off, and see what they look like myself.
Well 12 blocks down on Webster is a completely different world from this area, and particularly this development. That's like living 12 blocks up from 92nd street....not as extreme but you get the idea. This particular neighborhood is improving in leaps and bounds, and a high percentage of working/middle income tenants. Besides all the new middle income housing, there are already alot of well maintained working/middle classs townhomes across the area. Melrose is doing great things!
We've finally received our countersigned purchase agreement . That was a long process. Initally we were told it would take two weeks and it actually took about nine weeks. Anyhow, I'm glad that wait is over. Today I'll reach out to the loan officer so that we can begin the loan application process. Hope things continue to go well from here!
