I haven't seen the units but a friend told me that affordable housing lottery units sometimes don't have the same fixtures as the regular units. I don't know if that is the case here, or even if that person knew what they were talking about.
The units on Streeteasy have washer/dryer and modern cabinets.
I provided my documents this time last year, had an interview etc. I has also just received a promotion that put me over the threshold by $1800 :/ I like to think I would have been placed in a unit otherwise..Good luck everyone!

You should still try! Let them say no, not the other way around. I submitted documents for a different apartment (also never actually got offered a unit) and the person did my income really weird and it was lower than what I would consider my income. You never know!
Edit: I saw your post from back in the day. I guess they already did say no
I received an email as well and had a phone interview. Not sure why they are doing interviews for multiple waitlisted applicants. There is only one, 2 bedroom unit vacant.
Thanks, BoyMom02. It seems all of the buildings do the multiple person thing. I think this building has to fill vacancies the next 20-30 years, so hopefully eventually we will all get a real chance.
Did they say anything about the unit? Layout or cost?
I was told on the phone interview all verification information done prior to being waitlisted is no longer valid after 120 days. I assume they are checking everyone on the waitlist again.. They didn't give me much information over the phone about the apartment, but they did confirm the unit that is vacant is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit. Not sure if the amenities are the same as a market apartment.
Not yet. The phone interview just confirmed which documents they needed me to submit.
What's available now is a 2-bedroom at $3,100. The program also expires in 2038, at which point the apartment will revert to free market rent even if the tenant had been rent stabilized up to that point.
$3,100 is a stretch for me. So frustrating to not have liquidity, as the math over 10 years or 15 years makes so much sense.
