Default 540 West 53rd - Affordable Housing Lottery

Hi everyone,

I wanted to start a post on 540 w 53rd st housing lottery. Does anyone have any updates on this lottery, received a log # or gone to an interview? When I check the project status it still says CLOSED for me but I've never waited this long for a #.

Hi,

My number is in the low 2000's, no CB preference. But I am a little skeptical now. I've heard so many bad things about the neighborhood that I don't know what to think.

I have gone to three interviews and got accepted for the apartments, and once I saw them, I turned them down.
I hope this is not the case.
I feel that I have been lucky to be selected, but very unlucky to be called to the apartments that I really want in Manhattan.

I moved into a studio after receiving my second letter, which arrived about six months after the first. IIRC each time we viewed three apartments. But I would't put too much stock into that, as there is no way to know when apartments become available.

Thanks. The studio list hasn’t changed either.
