Crossing my fingers for you mkny14. We were called to look at a 2 BR with balcony, but there were 24 people ahead of me. I thought it would never be offered to us, but 3 months later we were offered it and couldn’t be happier. The people that were ahead of me, at least the ones who said they wanted it, could not be approved.

My log number is under 2,000. Has anyone in that range received an interview? If so, what did the email look like?

Their main concern is all sources of income, assets. They might ask if you have pets (most buildings now allow them), whether you plan to have anyone else move in with you (tread carefully there...). Anything beyond that is likely illegal, so post it here, and we'll tell you what to do.

Thanks dabronxgal! Do we want until we are offered an apt to start the mortgage approval process or wait until an offer is made?

Mkny, it probably couldn’t hurt to talk to a lender. At least to see what paperwork you will need to go forward and get preapproved.

Thank you for your reply! I'll be sure to post here if they ask anything beyond what you explained. I've been reading and learning from your posts

When you say they could not be approved, do you mean for financing? or approved by Penn South for some reason?

For those who are wondering, We were contacted at 30something on the external list. It was a 2 BR with balcony on fourth floor- first floor of balcony apartments. We seemed to have moved down a few spots since viewing the apartment at the end of January. Still have not heard anything more since viewing it. Assume it was taken since I would have jumped on it in a heartbeat and told them I would take it. I should walk by and peek and see if someone has moved in yet. Dabronxgal- maybe you got that apt!!
Mkny14 thanks for the info on what number you were at when contacted to view an apt. That is very helpful!! Good luck!!

anyone know what the updated income limits are? i notice the purchase prices have gone up since 2014 and assume the income restrictions have changed as well.

Maybe someone who has been called recently has access to this?

tx!

Could be either. They could be disqualified by Penn South for making too little or too much in the previous year, or for not having the right family size (i.e. you can't move into a 2-br with only two people).
