I am (was?) on the studio list, and I now have a closing date set for later this month after being called in to see apartments in June (the move-in was delayed because the previous residents took a while to move to their new 1-br). FWIW, as of yesterday's update, I've moved up about 160 spots on the no-preference studio list since February, to about 180.
Does anyone have any advice about moving in, buying a fridge/stove and having it delivered, etc.? Thanks!
So Incog79, I don't understand. You were called for an apartment being No. 180? You don't have to make it up to No. 1?
No, you don't. I think that number includes both active and inactive people ahead of you on the list, as well as people who are only interested in certain apartments (e.g. with a balcony). When we were called in, I was still in the 300's on the studio list. Based on that, I think it may also include people on the internal list who want some of the highly-desirable units (higher floors, larger balconies, etc.), but I'm not sure about that. Now that they have pared it down considerably, however, I'd expect that you need to be relatively closer to the top.
How exciting. I'm on on the 2 bedroom list and moved up 292 spots since the last update.
For current residents, can you have your own dryer/washer or is there a dedicated laundry room?

There are newly renovated laundry rooms in each building which are actually pretty nice. Washers and dryers are not officially permitted in the apartments but I know for a fact some people have snuck them in. It's annoying, because the plumbing was never designed to accommodate them in each apartment. More than a few times I went to use the shower and found that I didn't have either hot or cold water. I called maintenance and was told that the reason was that someone was using a washer in their apartment and there was little they could do at the time.
Thankfully, I haven't had that problem in awhile so perhaps it was removed. Anyway, that's probably more of a response than you wanted! I just wanted to emphasize there's a reason why they aren't allowed that affects other cooperators--it's not an arbitrary rule.
Whoa. I'm in shock. We moved up to #149 for the 2-bed list. Our number in February was 441! Did they change how they calculate the numbers on this list in the past eight months? In other words, did the list perhaps formerly include internal and external waiting lists, and now only includes external people? If not, this is an astronomical jump!
Am I right to think that at number 149, we could be called any month now? Holy moly.
