Y'all. Does anyone have any information about what's going on within Penn South?

I haven't moved on the list in a very long time.

they don't update the list all that often. Back in 2018 they only updated the list once the whole year.
we only knew it was moving because people would mention being called in to view apartments.

Does anyone know what the closet situation is in Penn South? Is it standard 1 or 2 closets for a studio? Are they tiny? I'm going from a walk-in closet and have to adjust my expectations and pare down my clothing!

They have all the floorplans on their website. Some studios have 3-4 closets, some have none.

Trisky, it's good to be prepared! But I'm sure you know that when you are called to view apartments, you will be seeing several on the same day. With any luck, there will be a variety of floor plans to pick from. If closets are your thing, you can make sure to select a unit with a generous supply of those. Some people want the larger kitchen, others want balconies. In my daughter's case, she will pick whichever apartment is closest to the subway!

Plus, I have never seen a PS studio with no closets. The apartments on the top floors seem to be lacking closet space in general, maybe because of the real estate devoted to the huge terraces. But to my knowledge they have at least one closet.

My comment was based on the studios those on the 2019 list are eligible. I have printed out and digitally furnished all studios and there are plenty of studios without closets. If the layouts on their site are accurate:

Buildings 2A - 8A, 19th-21st fl, E line. Those studios do not show any closets
Buildings 2B - 8B, 1st - 3rd fl and 19th fl, E line. Those also don't show closets

I asked someone a question regarding the closets in studios because I saw the same thing. It looks like some do not have them based upon the layouts but was told they all have them.

lottohopeful, I see a closet in the E line in building 2B on the 1st to 3rd floors. It's next to the bathroom.

Unless I am misinterpreting?

Also, when you're looking at studios on floors 1 to 3 and 19 to 21, those are a minority of the apartments in the buildings. Many more apartments are on floors 4 to 18. So I would think your chances are better to hit one of those.

Yeah those I am not sure about. I thought they may be closets, but since they aren't marked like the other closets (showing the doors), I assumed they were just...dead space

Well that's misleading (in a good way I guess). I really hope that is the case because having no closets would be a nightmare
