Hello everyone, hope everyone is safe during this time. I just wanted to know if anyone might have an idea, after your documents are sent to HDC how long does it take to get an approval or hear back from them?

I’ll give it some time before contacting them because I got an email from the coordinator that he’s sending our documents out today to HDC but I just wanted an estimated idea of when HDC might get back to us.

It varies. For me it told 3 days I believe but some people I know it took 2 weeks to a month because their are doing it in order so if the person with a lower log number get approved before you they move forward to viewing the apartment and signing the list. This process is so stressful. Just pray and follow up. Because the housing specialist isn’t only dealing with your paperwork. Also keep in mind when they send documents off they sending them off in bulk so that’s why following up is very important. I agree with Ashanti because you kinda eliminating the middle man because if you run across a nice hdc worker they will tell if something is missing from your file instead of having to wait for the housing specialist to get back to you.

You’re absolutely right about it being stressful! When the coordinator emailed me he said they weren’t seeing my fiancé tax return but we did send it so in his email for me to resend it again he said to send it ASAP so that he can try for us to get a possible approval within 5 business days. But I know once he sends it off it’s not really in his hands anymore. But thank you for your response. I get so nervous when ppl tell me it can even be more than a month before hearing back lol.

Hello everyone just wanted to give an update in my case our approval took 6 business days. Today we received an email that we’ve been approved and we’re going to do a virtual tour of the apartment.
