I was literally just contacted by my marketing agent saying my file was submitted to HPD today and this is what she stated below in her email.
"At this point in time, since your file has been submitted, expect a 2 to 3 week turn around (sometimes even sooner). I would say it’s safe to say you’ll hear back regarding approval before June! We’ll be in touch soon."
So it sounds like the HPD process can take more then 3-5 business days.
I think because some marketing agents say they are going to submit but actually don't until a whole batch is finished because they can submit in batches of 50 for approval to HPD. They also want to be the one to reach out so they giving you a longer timeframe so that you don't constantly ask for updates.
I just finished going through the process and my marketing agent told me we would have an answer in no more than 5 business days for sure, she said HPD takes 3-5 business days and I got an answer in 2 days. I've see some get an answer in one day.
If you read through all the threads on CD you will see most if not all who have been approved by HPD are approved within a week of their documents being submitted. Now if your marketing agent is slow with giving you updates that's a different story or something is missing from your file and you have to be resubmitted that would prolong the time it takes for approval.

Wow batches of up to 50, thats alot. You can potentially be approved but then there might not be any units left. Im hopeful that is not the case I have a low log # and CB preference. But my marketing agent actually has been really fast with any emails/phone calls. So hopefully HPD approval doesn't take as long as she stated.

If your file has been sent to HPD you already have a unit assigned, so it's almost impossible for there not to be a unit available for you, the only way there won't be is if someone messed up big time. HPD just triples check that everything is good which is why I believe their turn around time is fast, all they do is review everything, so you should be good. Congrats on getting this far and good luck!!

when they state your file is currently in review by the third party, will this be considered HPD?
I submitted all documents in May and contacted the management office last week for an update.
My file was submitted to HPD for approval on 5/24. It's more than two weeks now but I haven't heard anything from the agent about it though I asked them a couple of times & they kept saying they are also still waiting. I wonder whether there is any chance for HPD to reject the submitted file?

Im having the same issue, i submitted everything 05/15. I called on 6/3 and they said my file is in review by third party. Wondering if the third party is HPD. Not sure whats taking so long. I see most people get accepted pretty fast.
Interesting, 3rd party would indicate someone else other than HPD and the marketing agent. Well, as long as everything is legit you should not worry too much.
