It’s faster because it’s DHS that priority is higher than others

Any tips on getting certified? My family has been in a family shelter for 4 years and on the prelim wait-list for 6 years.
And help would be appreciated.

In order for you to get certified you have to get selected from nycha & get called in for an interview once you choose a development & is put on the waiting list then u become certified, certification is the next step to being picked for an apartment

Priority numbers do play a big role. I applied June 2020 my priority was n4 w3 but after interview and certification (March 2020) it changed to W0

I am n0. Still dont understand what's the hold up IT'S been 7 months for me being certified. One girl that I spoke with stated she just moved in to her apartment last week and her case worker told her that her apartment has been ready for a while now. I have no clue what's going on. You are lucky and I hope we all move in soon!!
