After tour & submitting the documents to HPD, how long was it before you get approved?

Also, does HPD just look over the same documents you sent to the housing specialist? Thank you!

I think it really depends. I've heard of situations where people have been approved next-day. Generally they say 2 weeks. I don't know really what happens behind the scenes though once you're at that point.

Submitted Documents on the 20th of December , Marketing Agent reached out for more documents and I paid the $20 for background check the 21st.

The 22nd she emailed me documents to sign and send back to her (TIC).

Viewed apartment on the 29th of December/ documents were submitted to HPD same day. I checked my HC dashboard on the 10th of January and seen review complete, later that same day Marketing Agent reached out and said I was approved for the apartment.

It was during the holidays so I expected it to take a more than a week.

This was for a re-rental.

It took exactly one week for my file to be approved (this was for a re-rental).

By the time it gets sent to HPD it's really just to make sure that everything is in order - I was missing a signature on a tax return and so I had to amend that. Other than that - once it gets sent to HPD - fingers crossed you are almost there!
