That’s what I’m thinking too lol. I’m assuming there are people packed together with roommates who live in CB5.

I just want to chosen for place in Manhattan I’ve always worked in or near midtown.

Yes, CB5 (AKA CB 105) would seem to have many people who don’t need affordable housing. On the other hand it’s only 50% of only 144 units of affordable housing against the entire the population of the area which is a large number. I don’t doubt that log#s with CB preference and 70% AMI will be found to offer those units. CB5 is only a block or so from Hells Kitchen.

Are there any SROs or NYCHA properties in CB5?

Below Central Park and from 8th Ave to the east are two boundaries of CB5. This includes the areas around Times Sq and Penn Station. I have seen more than a few old apartment building that from the outside look like they might be home to people with incomes that could qualify for 70% or 80% AMI.

Not everyone in West Village, Chelsea and west midtown is hugely wealthy.

Penn South is income restricted housing. There are *two* NYCHA housing projects in that part of Chelsea for a start.

Hell's Kitchen isn't all wealthy persons either.
