Here is a video of Bronx Historian Llyod Ultan who shows a tour of the Niegborhood of Mott Haven in the Bronx in 1986. Mott haven is where the Bronx began and where the Bronx was born, also in the video notable Bronx info, Lewis Morris signer of the Decleration of Independence and the constitution is wrote in his style and not Jefferson even though Jefferson wrote the constitution. Sadly Nobody knows of Lewis Morris is buried here on St anns avenue and 140th street. Bronx is more apart of American History probably then any other borough.

click on the youtube video below and there are also other videos really cool stuff, and a view of what Mott haven was like in the 80s. Not the usually depiction of the South Bronx of what you see in Morrisania.

This is really cool info I posted. Its really sad to many in Mott Haven and even through out the Bronx they dont know about the Bronx begining. Lincoln Memorial was sculpted in the Bronx and carted of to DC. This I knew but many dont know, federal govt really needs to step in and mark zones in Mott Haven and make them national historic districts screw city historic districts. But for many who knew! Also notice there is not alot of burned out buildings Mott Haven, but the general depictipnn of the South Bronx is burned out hollow shell or a bombed out version of Dresden.

There is so much to know about the Southern Bronx in general, and it's important place in history and American culture (today and tomorrow). If only people spent less time reading the Daily News and more time actually learning about themselves, their communities, and spreading truth! What a world this would be.

Your right sobroguy. The history of the southern bronx is the history of this this great nation. It makes me proud and honored to live in a niegborhood that has so much history in forging the early American republic. Goerge washington walking marching down brook avenue to kick some british ass, that's really something.

No problem. Its sad that much bronxites and new yorkers dont know this. In mott haven everyone worries about the latest iphone or blackberry and care about the latest rerrlease jordan sneakers. Its sad that hood people cant think out of box.

Well maybe this is one step in helping people think outside the box. That's kinda what I try to do on here and in the real world. It all makes a difference.

Me too. Sadly people dont know how to use there rational correctly or wisely. Many people are also non investigative. The other day I was at a barber shop on 137 and brooke ave. I was having a chat with him about the mott haven. He was shocked to know where he stands now, the man on the dollar bill stood thier 230 years ago.
