Anyone have pictures of Kips Bay and the Lower East Side and Park Avenue South in the 1970's-1990's?

Default how about pics

of the Eighth Avenue "Minnesota Strip"(8th Ave between 42-50th streets) between 1969 and 1989 (when Worldwide Plaza opened) and the site of the old Lincoln Hotel before 1980 (when the Milford Plaza opened)

I don't want to sound like a nut but I love looking at old 8th Avenue street scenes from the Koch era with the seedy theaters and characters loitering out on the streets

rlrl, Did you see this on the NY Times website a couple of days ago? Cleaning Up 'The Deuce' - Video Library - The New York Times

The beginning has some images that you are talking about.

Also try Google Images.

Its not really the gritiness that that interests me, its the fact that NYC has improved so much from that that time(really picked up alot around 95 I believe) and with other cities like Detroit you see a once great city in ruins waiting to have a New York like revival(although Detroit is in a much worse state)

Camilo Jose Vergara is in my opinion the best NYC urban decay photographer, he has many books on the market.(Mostly South Bronx and Harlem pics)

In the book Subway Art is my all time favorite South Bronx Pic, when the 2/5 train crosses St. Anns Ave in 1983. Not many street scenes in the book, but they are really good.

I am searching for images of Park Ave South from 1970 through 1979 from the then Pan Am Building/Grand Central shooting towards Union Square. We have exhausted all traditional methods and are hoping you may be able to help. We are offering a $1,000.00 reward for any one that can produce a usable photo and that can be verified as from the 70’s. I am hoping and aerial photo from Pan Am or maybe something coming out of the tunnel anything just north of 34th street showing the building with the Hebrew National ad on it. I know this may be a bit out of your wheel house and hope I am not offending you in any way.
Please let me know if you can help.
Thank you very much for your time,
James
