Why would you choose NYC to move to from Hawaii? Especially with only $500/month to spend?

I feel like this is a troll post.

need to move to a place that is cheaper and has viable public transportation. also, my medical situation would be better in a colder climate. right now i only have SSI to live on till voc rehab takes affect.

And why would you think the most expensive city in the country is cheaper than Hawaii?

Default NYC vs Honolulu

They are probably closer than you think. Hawaii even has a seperate poverty index from the mainland. NYC also has many more people compared to honolulu.
