Be careful with the abbreviation POC, it also means "piece of cr&p". There's probably a better term.
Also, unlike many other English-speaking countries, in the US the term "oriental" has connotations of an insult. Its not simply the opposite of occidental here.

I use people of color...you think being a "minority" is better? We aren't a minority either seeing as we are the majority in the world. How the heck did we become a minority?
I don't care that others may not like people of color, it is preferable to minority. Since the powers that be have not allowed some of us into the priviledged "white" group (yet), we can only be people of color. If you are interested in making friends with POC because you have never done this before (as if), and refer to asians as orientals, you are either trolling or have bigger problems than this.
As the title says, I want to make friends with POC, but have little experience in this department.
I have mostly White and Oriental friends and am interested in making friends with any middle class and proper English speaking Hispanics, and Blacks.
Are there any Whites here with Hispanic and Black friends? Is it possible to do, or is there too much of a racial barrier between the groups?
Do Hispanics and Blacks really hate the White man so much that they don't want anything to do with us?

Any group of people can be friends and become close. I prefer to see people as people, Not some dumb abbreviation you took from a TV cable movie that singled out very clearly 2 of those races. You clearly sound better off alone.

Try using "Black" or "Hispanic". And not all Hispanics are "colored" btw.
Also, this s obviously a troll thread. Otherwise why would you post this in the NYC forum of all places?
