That chief is famous for what he does to guys on the basket routes among other things. Rumor was he was getting moved to Brooklyn or he was retiring. Any news? I think that game plays well where he is, somewhere else not so much, senior guys know exactly why. Some districts just run themselves, and they do a very good job of it. No need for outside interference from upstairs, gobig I think you might agree?
I totally agree most districts run themselves and need no outside interference, and most chiefs know this it's the cleaning operations that really get people in trouble and the ever more occurring midday roll calls
For what it's worth, I went to Pre Or this Monday on 7/29. 41 showed up, 18 CDL ready, & 9 with Permits, 13 with neither. The Director of HR said that the list is expiring on 2/14 and didn't even mention an extention. I was devastated hoping for an extention since I find my list # kind of a high. She did mention that they don't do Pre Or's on Fridays & that they only had 10 Pre Or's since 7/12. The total average is about 40 more or less who showed up per day compared to the larger amount that were invited. I've read that a day or two had 50 but last Thursday she said that only 19 showed up. If I remember correctly, today the #'s ranged from around 327X to 336X. So far, she did mention that she had about 150 pending medicals with CDL's, 42 who passed & ready to go & 20 who failed aside from the 150 pending. Not to mention any candidates scheduled to take the medical & those who take the training at FBF which will probably make up the majority of the 2nd & 3rd class. Keep in mind that you have to pass the medical inorder to take the training & pass the road test inorder to qualify for FP. She also mentioned that they may decide to increase the list from 290 to 300 hirees last minute but it's not for sure. I've learned not to take anything in stone when it comes to this process because nothing is ever concrete, but just figured I share what I heard today to anyone who's interested since a few of you guys did so beforehand. Thanks & good luck to everybody!
