Would you say there is a lot of people who live in NYC that have a lot of family in north jersey and vice versa? I was wondering because that is the case for me and my family. I am from jersey city, new jersey and I have a lot of family in New Jersey specifically Newark, jersey city, and Hoboken, and I have a lot of family in New York City. Specifically brooklyn, Bronx, Staten Island, and Long Island. All of my family lives in either north jersey or New York City. Is that common?
Many, many of those I know in NYC have families originally from NYC that then spread to one of the following: NJ, Long Island, Westchester, or Florida.
My wife is from North Jersey. I grew up on SI and my mother is from South Jersey. Only some of my father's family still lives in SI, the rest are all in South Jersey.
