smart move for the mayor and christine quinn.

It would have been a disaster if the race ran as scheduled and someone over the weekend died as a result of a lack of being rescued

Perhaps it was the public relations nightmare of defending the marathon while Sandy victims are evicted from their hotels onto the streets to make room for joggers?

I think those evicted from the hotels and their supporters would have shown their displeasure towards the runners and officials on national TV for all the world to see.
