I don't want to steal the thread, but I'd also be interested to hear on what issues people will be focused on when selecting mayor.
For me, I'll look for support of stop and frisk, how to turn around the mta. Not sure what else to look for, so would love to hear the issues important to others. And lets not say, "oh support of the middle class." Yes, we all get that. And every candidate will say that. But what actions support this?

Anyone but Quinn, but I'm voting for DeBlasio. We need a Mayor who will FINALLY take a stand against Carriage Horses, one who will put an end to the senseless mass slaughter of Canada Geese, and someone who will advocate for more Shelter adoptions and less Euthanasia!

Weiner is definitely the best candidate. He might not make the best mayor but he is definitely the best candidate.

It's pretty difficult to turn the MTA around as NYC mayor when the majority of control lies outside the city.

I do not support S & F, I think it is an invasion of privacy, and do not agree with it.

Ray Kelley has got to go as well.

I think all the candidates basically suck.

Quinn, while I am not loving her, unfortunetely she is the best of the bunch.

deBlasio, I have heard his name for decades, just what does this man do?
Weiner, self explanatory.
The others, I have not a clue about.

and then there's Quinn.
and then there's Quinn,

and then there's that old compromisn, enterprisn'
anything but tranqualizin right on Quinn

I'm voting for deBlasio. He has some good ideas.

He got a restraining order to keep LICH operating.

Lots of plans for real affordable housing.
Closing tax loopholes for the big developers.
Favors mandatory inclusionary zoning rules.
Survey vacant lots and develop them into housing.

Wants to get control of the ability to set the minimum wage
for the city away from the state and tie it to the cost of living.

End the practice of raising water bills to fund the city's
budget and only charge enough to keep the system working.

The one plan I don't like is that he wants to expand the use of surveillance cameras throughout the city. Too big brother for me.

He has been a school board member, a councilman, was regional director of the
Dept of Housing and Urban Development under Cuomo. Was Hillary's campaign manager
when she ran for Senate in 2000.
